Visiting Vegas: Choosing Las Vegas Hotels

On the strip in Las Vegas, Nevada, no matter where you turn, there is a hotel. Las Vegas hotels are like no other hotels in the world! Each hotel is like its own private city. Depending on the one you choose to visit, you may not have to leave the grounds! These hotels have restaurants, casinos, bars, entertainment, banks, and any type of amenity you can possibly imagine.

Time stops in Vegas hotels. In fact, the casinos don't have clocks in them. Las Vegas allows you to be whoever you want to be and as the saying goes: "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Las Vegas accommodation is really no different. You can lose yourself in this place and since the hotels are small cities in their own rights, as long as you have the cash, you really don't need to be found. The casinos are always open, the drinks always flow and your money can be made or lost in a matter of seconds. If this seems overwhelming, never fear...the actual city of Las Vegas has grown around the casinos into a rather family friendly destination city with fantastic day trips, exciting shows and even several theme parks!

Should you chose to leave your Vegas hotel, getting around Las Vegas is fairly easy. There are cabs everywhere, an easy to follow bus schedule and monorail that goes though the Strip. You can certainly rent a car if you are feeling adventurous, but Las Vegas traffic is not for the impatient driver. You can walk from one casino to others fairly easily. There are slot machines on the sidewalks should you feel the urge to gamble on the way. Most of the casinos in Las Vegas are public, so you should feel free to wander into other hotels. There is much to see in Las Vegas and a nice walk on the Strip will likely leave you in awe.

If you are willing to go off the beaten path a bit, Las Vegas hotels can be found at a nice discount. Even a few blocks off the main Strip or looking for hotels downtown can save you $100s. There are still casinos off the strip as well as typical Las Vegas accommodations, but since it is further from where much of the action is, you get these rooms at a discount. Just because they are at a discount doesn't mean you don't get the same amenities, you do. Visitors on holiday in Vegas pay for location.

It is entirely possible to visit Las Vegas and not gamble at all! It is in a beautiful, natural location with mountains, deserts and wildlife. You can camp, golf, or take a day trip to the Grand Canyon, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. The Hoover Dam is near Las Vegas as well, and offers cruises and kayak tours of the area. A helicopter ride in the desert can top off a perfect holiday to the US.
